The Southern California American Industrial Hygiene Association (SCAIHA) honors several individuals annually for Academics, Leadership, and Technical Achievements in the field of Industrial Hygiene. The Scholarship Awards (Graduate and Undergraduate) are given out during the May meeting and presentation; and the Lawrence R. Birkner Leadership Award and Ruth McIntyre-Birkner Technical Achievement Award are presented during the March meeting and presentation.
If anyone would like to make a nomination of an individual or individuals that you believe deserves one of these awards, please contact Len Posner. The Executive Board will make the final choice, but we would certainly like to receive input from our members.
Scholarship Award Winners
The Southern California Section recognizes academic excellence by offering scholarship awards annually. Typically, one award is presented to an outstanding undergraduate student entering the industrial hygiene field and the other award is for an outstanding graduate student studying industrial hygiene.
