Dear Industrial Hygiene Student:
Over the years, the Southern California American Industrial Hygiene Section has awarded scholarships to deserving students studying industrial hygiene--occupational health and safety. Building upon this past success, eligibility criteria have been expanded to include more schools than ever before. Any Student/Full/Associate member of the Southern California American Industrial Hygiene Association Section who is attending, or applying to, an ABET-accredited IH graduate, or undergraduate program Students who complete this application need not apply for a specific scholarship but will be considered for all the scholarships for which they are eligible. These scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds provided through contributions from the SCAIHA members local section. Previous SCAIHA scholarship recipients are NOT eligible to apply.
The 2010 scholarship application process will be electronic via email to scholar@cihcsp.com . Please see instructions prior to submitting application.
The application form provides important information to the SCAIHA Selection Committee, which is comprised of practicing industrial hygienists. Please read each question carefully and answer each question fully. It is imperative that you meet the established March 5, 2010, deadline for the completed application and any attachments. The Selection Committee begins its independent review process in On March 6, 2010 Incomplete applications and/or applications received after March 5th are ineligible for review. You will not be notified prior to March 5, 2010 if your application is incomplete.
Applications will be reviewed and judged on the basis of academic record, extracurricular activities, and future goals as an industrial hygienist. You will be notified in March of the Selection Committee’s decision. All monies awarded will be distributed in March 2010, and all recipients will be recognized publicly at the regular March Meeting of the SCAIHA. They will be posted on the SCAIHA.ORG website.
